PIXTON: everyone can make comics

Resim
PIXTON Pixton is a comic creation site (as well as Android and iOS app) where creators can both make and share their comic strips. It's simple to navigate. After teachers establish a classroom site, they receive codes to distribute to students. Students can join by entering the code or teachers can manually add students to their class page. After students create an avatar (in comic form, of course!), they follow the step-by-step comic creator to begin their graphic stories. Teachers can make a specific assignment, or let students create freely. Options include the number of panels and the layout of a page. Visual icons help students add artwork, backgrounds, and text bubbles to comics (students don't draw their own stuff here but pick from a bank of fun images). A handy link to video tutorials is located right in the workspace, and the videos open up above a comic-in-progress, allowing students to toggle between how-tos

Pinterest

Resim
Pinterest is a social network that allows users to visually share, and discover new interests by posting (known as ‘pinning’ on  Pinterest) images or videos to their own or others’ boards (i.e. a collection of ‘pins,’ usually with a common theme) and browsing what other users have pinned. Using a visual orientation, the social network is very much focused on the concept of a person’s lifestyle, allowing you to share your tastes and interests with others and discovering those of likeminded people. The social network’s goal is to “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting.” Users can either upload images from their computer or pin things they find on the web using the Pinterest bookmarklet. Here is my Pinterest Pin. I also used  Piktochart  to prepare my Pinterest Pin.

Seesaw

Resim
Seesaw  The Learning Journal provides opportunities for students -- and teachers -- to really think outside the box. Students can show their work and thought processes in real time by submitting a video of themselves working through a math problem, snapping a picture of a paragraph they wrote, recording themselves reading a poem, or uploading a file to demonstrate their learning. Encourage kids to submit a series of images along with notes that tell the story that connects them. Or let kids collaborate with each other using peer-to-peer feedback to offer suggestions on writing content, scientific hypotheses, or creative ideas. Teachers at all grade levels and across all content areas can use Seesaw to keep digital portfolios of student work, including commenting on student submissions. You can communicate with families easily and share student work with them, or push out assignments to students to individualize instruction. You can also choose work to share with a broader

Virtual Reality

Resim
Virtual reality is a 3D computer-generated simulation which is very close to the real-world experience. The main component of VR is its head-mounted display (HMD). Other components include hand controllers and headphones. Any person can immerse themselves into a virtual world, performing certain actions. It can all be done through the help of their five senses: touch, taste, hear, smell, and sight.  In other words, it is an illusion of reality through a software-based virtual world. The uses of virtual reality in education are many. We have listed down a few of them below: o  Special education :  VR in education is beneficial for students with special needs. One can customise the content according to each student’s requirements and needs. o  Language training :  Students can learn a new language through full immersion since learning requires both speaking and listening skills. o  Skills training :  It is better to learn a new skill by practising in a real-life sit

Hot Potatoes

Resim
Hot Potatoes is shareware from Half-Baked Software which is based at the University of Victoria in Canada. It is a program that allows you to make six different types of self-test exercises. These exercises can also quite easily be imported into an LMS like Moodle to be used for assessment of learning content. Hot Potatoes was originally meant to create language exercises, and some HotPot exercises (like jumbled sentence) have little use otherwise. However, most exercises can be used for any subject. Hot Potatoes is shareware. That means you can freely download the program from the Internet (at Hhttp://web.uvic.ca/hrd/hotpot/ ). I created a quiz via HotPotatoes, here are some photos of my quiz.
